Scrappy Star :

This little beauty is so popular; it has been requested over and over again.
Make star blocks the quick and easy way using your scraps and Wendy Gilbert’s marvelous technique.
Trade star points with other students and square them up after you trade with the Eleanor Burns Triangle
Square Up Ruler. You will have a whole quilt top in no time!! And each one will be perfect because you
squared it up yourself.

Cheryl teaches you the star technique, setting instructions and piano key border. Quilting ideas are discussed.

Round Log Cabin:

This original Woodland Quilts pattern is made from only two fabrics, a light color or background and a large scale print or batik.   This is an amazing quilt that is sewn as a log cabin but looks curvy when the blocks are put together.   Cheryl has taught this quilt at many Sewing and Quilting Expos with great success.   Kit includes My Favorite Log Cabin Ruler by Marti Michell and the original Round Log Cabin pattern by Cheryl from Woodland Quilts, LLC.

Cheryl will demonstrate how to use these blocks to make a lap through king size quilt, the many different designs these blocks can be set in and how to make a table runner or table topper from just a few blocks.

Five Inch is a Cinch; The Star Medallion  

This pattern, made by Pat Speth (The Nickel Quilt Lady) is a marvelous way to bring, trade and use up scraps.   The whole quilt can be made from 5 inch squares, lots and lots of 5 inch squares.   This is a wonderful quilt for a weekend retreat or if you just want Cheryl to get you started and you and your group can finish up later.   The 88 inch square quilt top focuses on a large star block in the middle and various scraps with  log cabin, churn dash and mock pineapple blocks scattered throughout the quilt.  Kit includes the pattern and Eleanor Burn’s Triangle Square Up ruler. 

Cheryl will show you an easy way to accomplish the middle star block, the variety of the other blocks and include a game that students can play while exchanging fabrics, all with great fun.
